Robert Haight We are pleased to announce that our good friend and wonderful poet Rob Haight will be the featured Reader at the October 20 ETT Open Mic.
He was educated at Western Michigan University where he received an MFA in Creative Writing and BA in English and linguistics, and Michigan State University where he took graduate courses in education. He has published two poetry collections, Emergences and Spinner Falls (New Issues Poetry and Prose 2002), which was nominated for the Great Lakes Book Award, and Water Music (Ridgeway Press 1995), as well as essays and articles on fly fishing, the environment, and education. His work has appeared in dozens of journals and magazines. He has received awards from the Arts Foundation of Michigan, Kalamazoo Foundation, Poetry Resource Center of Michigan, Western Michigan University, and has been listed in Who’s Who Among America’s College Teachers and Michigan Writers. When not teaching, he might be found fly fishing, petitioning for peace, sitting meditation or weeding his garden, probably in about that order.
